Exceeding Customer Expectations, Achieving Zero Defect Goals
Product life cycle and continuity of supply are important to both Southchip and our valued customers. Southchip is committed to extending the life of our products for our customers and has developed strategies and internal policies to fulfill this commitment.
To help customers make decisions when selecting products, Southchip categorizes the product status of each product as "Pre-sale", "Active", "Not Recommended for New Designs (NRND)", "Last Buy Date" or "EOL". To reinforce Southchip's commitment to product longevity, Southchip classifies a product as NRND in rare circumstances, such as when there is an issue that may affect product quality or the ability to manufacture the product in the long term.
Pre-sale: The product is avaible for sale as an experiment pruduct, but has not yet been mass-produced. The product is subject to change during the engineering validation process prior to mass production.
Active: The product is released to the market and available for purchase. Newer alternatives to some products are available.
Last Time Buy: The date of the customer's last purchase before the product is completely discontinued.

The shelf life of semiconductor products is determined by multiple factors, including: material composition of device components, manufacturing conditions, Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL), utilization of Moisture Barrier Bags (MBB), desiccant quantity, and end-user storage environments.
We strongly advise customers to comprehensively evaluate these factors when managing storage protocols and assessing shelf life expectations for SouthChip products.
SouthChip implements rigorous controls throughout manufacturing and storage processes. For moisture-sensitive devices, we use dry packaging that includes desiccants, Humidity Indicator Cards (HIC), and Moisture Barrier Bags (MBB) to ensure full compliance with industry-standard shipping specifications and to guarantee shelf life integrity.
The product shelf life period commences from the date of factory packaging.
Customer handling and storage practices are critical to maintaining SouthChip products within specified shelf life parameters. Users must consult MSL labeling on product packaging for allowable environmental exposure durations and mandatory storage requirements.

After the product is officially launched, Southchip will focus on continuous improvement strategies, so it may need to modify, update or discontinue product/process.
During the process of change, Southchip will refer to industry standards J-STD-046,ZVEI, and will inform customers of changes that affect form, fit, or function of the product or adversely affect the quality or reliability of the product.
The PCN provided by Southchip will include the following information:
Notification Date | Implementation Date | PCN number
Proposed 1st Ship Date | Sample requests accepted until
Change Type | Description of Change | Reason for Change | Change Classification
Anticipated impact on Form, Fit, Function, Quality or Reliability (positive / negative)
Products Affected | Change Identification (this section will describe how to identify the changed product) | Qualification Data or Summary
Notice of Change for Automotive Component Products, Southchip Semiconductor follows the ZVEI standard and uses the ZVEI recommended PCN/Information Note to notify customers.
Product Discontinuance/End-of-Life (EOL) Notice (PDN)
The product discontinuance/end-of-life (EOL) process at Nexperia follows J-STD-048 standards. Southchip strives to avoid discontinuing products. We will reserve a 6-month last-time-buy period and a 12-month last-time-ship period for product discontinuation/end-of-life. For automotive products, the standard for product discontinuation is longer, with a 12-month last-time-buy period and an 18-month last-time-ship period reserved. In rare cases, it may be necessary to create an accelerated EOL schedule. In such cases, we will communicate with affected customers the final purchase and delivery dates.
The EOL notice includes:
Detailed Description
PDN Number
Contact information
Last Time Buy
Last Time Ship
Products Affected
Replacement Products (if applicable)

Southchip is dedicated to offering one-stop chip solutions for customers.
To reduce the risk of counterfeit products, we strongly advise customers to purchase semiconductor products only through Southchip's direct sales channels or authorized distributors.
Key Risk Warning :
The appearance, packaging, and labeling of counterfeit products may be almost identical to those of genuine Nanxin products. However, the manufacturing process, packaging specifications, device identification specifications, storage conditions, or logistics control of these counterfeit products do not comply with Southchip standards, thus bringing significant performance, safety, and reliability risks.
Authorization Compliance Notice:
Semiconductor products purchased through unauthorized channels (including agents, independent sellers, or online markets/"gray markets") will be considered as:
✓ Counterfeit or unreliable products
✓ No quality - guarantee service will be provided
✓ No warranty service will be provided
✓ No customer support will be provided

The bathtub curve is a graph that represents the relationship between product failure rate and relative time or cycle, showing three different stages of product life: Early Life stage, inherent or service life stage, and loss period stage.
The early life failure and inherent failure are mostly caused by defects introduced in manufacturing processes. Many device defects can be eliminated through effective reliability methods.
Early failure rate refers to device failures caused by defects during the assembly of circuit boards, system assembly processes, or the initial usage cycle of clients.
ELFR (in FIT) = 109 × λ = 109 × χ2 c,d /(2 × A × N × tA)
A : Early failure rate acceleration factor, usually derived from temperature and voltage factors
N : Sample size for aging experiment
tA: Acceleration time within the specified time for aging experiment sample size
χ2: chi-square distribution
c : Confidence level
d: free radical
FIT: Failure in time device failure rate, which can be expressed as the number of device failures that occurred in 109 hours. For example, 1 fit can understand that 1 million devices will experience one failure after 1000 hours of operation, or 1000 devices will experience one failure after 1 million hours of operation.
Simulate calculations using the early failure rate equation. The calculation is based on effective reliability experimental data
